Below are details of the trip from 1st day to 19th Day 2011.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport, We meet our tour guide and transfer to our Hotel for an Overnight in Esella hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo valley National Park, driving north, lunch in Gulu, Uganda’s second biggest town, just out of Kampala your guide will point out to the Popular Luwero triangle and continue through the Savannah assorted with Acacia and Shrubs-continue to kitgum for an overnight.
Day 3: At Kidepo valley National Park, after breakfast in A landscape of vast plains and semi-arid savannah framed by jagged mountains and wooded hills, Kidepo is one of the wildest and most spectacular reserves in Africa. The landscape throughout the park is studded with small hills, rocky outcrops and inselbergs from which one can obtain stunning views in all directions enjoy panoramic views of the Narus River Valley and photographic opportunities of wildlife from all corners, An evening game drive along the Narus River Valley for game Viewing and photography of Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, Jackson's Hartebeest, Klipspringer and possibly Lions. Overnight at Apoka hostel bandas.
Day 4: After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including Ostrich for lunch. In the afternoon have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamjong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. If need be! They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. Overnight at Apoka hostel bandas.
Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park The Giraffe Paradise!, a very early start and advance into the Park as you decend to the albert nile, game safari and in the afternoon a super highlight in the Afternoon-2-5pm a 3hours Boat ride to the base of Falls where you get to see the Hippos (You have never seen more hippos yawning, Grooming in there Pods anywhere else than here- Believe me you)! Nile crocodiles, elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the banks. If you are a keen birder this might be your magnet to catch them. Overnight in Red chilli.
Day 6: An early cup of tea/coffee at 6:00am Ferry crossing, to the Game drive Nile river Bank to the broad savannah for the most likelihood Big cats hunting, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, plus more as the checklist of mammals reaches 76 we continue browsing the Drive circuits to the Delta point for a cocktail of Birds and mammals –in the afternoon yet another highlight in the visiting top of the falls Dinner, over night Kontik hotel. (Preferably Hoima- to cut distance tomorrow) Or An early cup of tea / coffee at 6:00am Ferry crossing, to the Game drive Nile river Bank to the broad savannah for the most likelihood Big cats hunting, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, plus more as the checklist of mammals reaches 76 we continue browsing the Drive circuits to the Delta point for a cocktail of Birds and mammals –after lunch visit top of falls and transfer out to Overnight in kanio pabidi jane goodhal institute / Kanio pabidi
Day 7: After breakfast transfer It’s a long drive with our target to have lunch in Fort portal as the distance was cut yesterday the pressure and fatigue is lessened, a punctuation of stopovers at sceneries like the Rift valley escarpment on Lake Albert (seen yesterday) - typical African village setup in the far countryside offer us chances of stretching, tea plantations along the drive ways as we check in late afternoon. Overnight Primate Lodge.
Day 8: After breakfast to Kibale Forest National Park. Chimp trekking experience,Kibale N.P is a rainy forest and a home to over 1500 Chimpanzees and the only place to see them close and capture close shots of our closet cousins in the Jungle in there frenzy exciting moods grooming! Plus 9 different species of Monkeys- red colobus, red tailed monkey and bush babies. More in the forest canopy colored aviation creatures-butterflies various Bird species like the native Great blue Turaco, joyful greenbul, olive long tailed cuckoo, the superb black bee eater. An Afternoon walk featuring the waterfalls and the archeological evidence of the origins of this Bunyoro kitara Kingdom believe me you it will give you a sighing experience. Overnight L. Nkuruba crater views/ ihamba lodges.
Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth, after breakfast and drive further southwards with the Rwenzori ranges (Longest in Africa) in View or Drive through the Crater lakes in the Hills through to sample out the surprising Diversity of Savannah trees and wild life! With your Binoculars along the peninsula, you have a magnificent view of Birds, animals like the ever-playing African Elephants in Waters as we sigh and reset Fatigue and stress, to point zero (it is necessary on this day). 3pm and get ready for the Classic highlights on the 2hrs Boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel 36kms linking Lake George - lake Edward, land and water Adapted Hippopotamuses Yawning and some slashing canines to each other and the National Geographical society Killing machine the Nile Crocodile gaping along the Banks! Savannah versions of Pigs the Warthog- Pumba of the award winning Lion King are a hallmark sign in this Animal home! Overnight in simba camp cottages/ Ihamba lodge.
Day 10: Queen Elizabeth National Park in the cool morning, warm breakfast, game view rush, an early game drive that exposes us to diverse animals, Big 5 members Elephants, Buffalos, big cats- Lions, Leopards more times in the evening, warthogs- Hunchback carnivals like Hyenas are spotted along the Circuits as we drive along the and many more species that are residents to this park. There is a rich bird life especially our version of storks in the wetland sports as we reach the Flamingoes in the salt lakes Transfer to Ishasha, we will drive off in this adventurous vast savannah area with Topis, and the southern version of Elephants to get the Lions high in the Fig tree branches normally after midday game view drive under the thorny savannah trees, transfer Bwindi mountain gorillas. (If we reach early we can do the walk and mix with the locals or relax with the Orphans group performers) Overnight in Ishasha bandas.
Day 11: Transfer after lunch in kabale and Enter Kigali a city in a country different from the rest of the great lakes countries (We visit the town life golf club and have tea or coffee break in this Town of rolling hills. Overnight in Kigali stepp motel.
Day 12: Genocide war Memorial- traditions and culture of Rwanda in the crafts villages if need be a visit to the memorial ground – your guide will be throwing light on this former French –Belgium colony on how the apocalypse started and how it ended with a backup from the video graphic representation of this story- : – cosy evening at the shores of the lake and discovering the surroundings bordering Congo Overnight at L. Kivu Hotel Paradis
Day 13: Relaxation day if need be with discovery tour on the lake with exploration of the lake’s flora and fauna – or tomorrow; optional boat visit to the islands (Island of Peace) will transfer after lunch to Kinigi near the parc nationale de Volcanos Overnight in Muhabura hotel. Day 14: Gorilla trekking; briefing time is 7 o’clock Rwanda Time at ORTPN office headquarters. Early breakfast of course; we drive up 12km to the base of the Volcanoes- we will be grouped into groups! The atmosphere warms you up as you have some coffee to re-charge and warm up as its under 15’C we will get into our cars and get driving into the molten lava bread as its tough for the cars as you get massaged, you enter forest for the trekking in search for the Rwandese Version of Gorillas the highlight of the day - Transfer and drive to cross the less active border post target destination the Switzerland of Africa along Lake Bunyonyi - it has an area with superb rich views with small Resident and exotic bird species singing in this coolest area in Uganda below 10C some nights! It’s also a rare Bilharzias free lake (You can swim). Dinner and over night Bushara islands.
Day 15: Relaxation day with short list of activities, canoeing and visiting village islands- cultural dance by Children, Option- hiking on Bushara trail along the lakeshores, returns to the hotel and relax, afternoon canoe ride along the lake, visit local market or climb the hill. Lake Bunyonyi with small Resident and exotic bird species singing is also fine for swimming as it’s a bilharzias free lake. Dinner and overnight bushara islands.
Day 16: After breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo, the ‘Zebra magnet’ continue driving thru the Hilly areas, out of the vast savannah dotted with acacia and shrubs, Lunch in Mbarara as we game drive for view of Zebras, Topis, Warthogs, cape buffaloes, impalas just in time to Catch the Boat cruise at 4pm yet a great highlight - native birds animals along the banks, Crocodiles, Hippos yawning and more birds 2 hours fishermen along as we sail Overnight in Wildlife tents.
Day 17: Early morning walk, get early up to visit the hyenas den, chance to see Leopards, zebras, waterbucks, birds buffaloes in there day break jungle life! Get back for breakfast and drive back 4, 1/2hrs early stop over at equator and early Lunch in masaka. Drive back through Kampala to jinja kingfisher.
Day 18: Open Day Depending on your request payable by visitors, Relaxing on the pool / cruising to source of the Nile / Water rafting day full day/ Quencher Soda & beer and Lunch barbeque will be served during a full Day Rafting on the Rapid white waters with DVDs of the whole adventure on sale. Dinner and overnight in Jinja Kingfisher resort / Relaxation in Jinja to Kampala evening visit to the Ndere troupe for music performance. Overnight in Essela hotel.
Day 19: Flight Day --:--am/pm City tour to Entebbe international airport for evening flight! (Delicious Tilapia and Chips)
